May 18: Thai USS3 Rubber Prices Rise; Slow Arrivals

[Dow Jones] Physical prices of Thai USS3 rubber rise to THB142.12/kg vs THB140.19-THB141.65/kg last Thursday, as arrivals are still slow, says a Hat Yai-based trader; he adds “I really don”t know when arrivals will improve; we keep getting rain, which disrupts tapping.” The central markets were closed Friday to Tuesday for government and public holidays. Outside the central markets, factories are paying around THB145-THB146/kg. There are no arrivals at Surat Thani Wednesday. Sales in Thailand”s central markets total around 47.5 tons Wednesday versus 16.2 tons last Thursday: 14.5 tons in Hat Yai, 33 tons in Chandee.
