Apr 19: Thai USS3 Rubber Prices Up Despite Fall In Futures

[Dow Jones] Physical prices of Thai USS3 rubber rise to THB112.66-THB114.78/kg vs THB111.02-THB113.97/kg last Monday, extending record-breaking streak despite sharp fall in rubber futures. Thai central markets were closed for national holiday from Tuesday to Friday last week. “We have no choice, there really isn”t much raw material,” says Hat Yai-based rubber factory executive. Thailand in thick of wintering season; total USS3 arrivals slow to below 20 tons. No supply at Surat Thani again. Total quantity sold in three central markets of Thailand estimated at 15 tons vs 9.3 tons last Monday: 14.3 tons in Hat Yai, 0.7 tons in Chandee.
