[Dow Jones] RSS3 rubber on Agricultural Futures Exchange of Thailand settle slightly lower on speculative selling, traders say. “Market shed some points due to speculators liquidating positions but overall fundamentals remain strong,” says Chiaki Furui, chief executive, Agrow Enterprise, Bangkok-based commodities brokerage. Some brokerages sold on Tokyo, bought on Shanghai, to take advantage of arbitrage, say traders. Lower Shanghai futures dragged down AFET rubber futures; prospect of possible further Chinese monetary tightening weighs more heavily on SHFE. Benchmark AFET October RSS3 contract settles THB0.25 lower at THB104.80/kg. Most traders expect prices to rise above THB105/kg again soon. (SAM)
