SINGAPORE—Total world rubber demand will grow 1.8 percent in 2015 and 4.1 percent in 2016, according to the December 2014 issue of the World Rubber Industry Outlook now available from the International Rubber Study Group.
This forecast translates to demand of 29.1 million metric tons in 2015 and 30.3 million tons in 2016, the IRSG said in a Jan. 6 press release.
The WRIO forecasts world NR consumption of 12.3 million tons in 2015, 12.9 million tons in 2016 and 16.5 million tons in 2023. World SR consumption will be 16.8 million tons in 2015, 17.5 million tons in 2016 and 21.5 million tons in 2023, according to the publication.
The latest WRIO is one of a series of biannual publications providing comprehensive data on production, consumption, trade and prices for both natural and synthetic rubber, the IRSG said. The WRIOs present the latest long-term forecasts for NR and SR for the next 10 years, covering the world economy as well as the vehicle, tire and rubber sectors, it said.
The publication is available for sale on the IRSG website for $2,246.
