25 July 2014: Tocom Rubber Settles Lower but Spot Month Higher

Tocom rubber futures settle 0.6% lower because of weak market sentiment although the spot contract settled higher on tight, immediate supply because of Ramadan and ahead of contract expiry Friday. Other contracts, however, were all lower with trade volumes low reflecting a lack of interest because of forecasts of a supply surplus ahead, traders say. Benchmark December rubber settles Y1.2 lower at Y203.8/kg with just about 2,800 lots changing hands.
