16 July 2012: Thai USS3 Rubber Prices Rise; Focus on Government Action

Physical prices of Thai USS3 rubber rise to THB87.87-THB89.25/kg from THB86.89-THB87.25/kg Friday; rain curbs tapping in south Thailand and growers hold back stocks in anticipation of further government price intervention after a cabinet meeting due to be held Tuesday, a trader in Bangkok says. Outside the central markets, factories are paying around THB91/kg. Sales in Thailand’s three main central markets total around 22.6 tons Monday versus 146.2 tons Friday: 7.6 tons in Hat Yai, 5 tons in Surat Thani, 10 tons in Chandee.
