Physical prices of Thai USS3 rubber rise slightly to THB89.41-THB90.59/kg from THB89.39-THB90.23 Friday, catching up with gains on Tocom Monday when the central markets were closed for a public holiday. Outside the central markets, factories are paying THB88.0-THB92.5/kg. A trader in south Thailand says some factories seem to be stockpiling ahead of the low-production season, which is expected to start around February. “Current levels are fair, with prices finding some support after recent declines, but I think sellers will only sell actively if prices push through THB100/kg.” Sales in Thailand’s three main central markets total around 72.6 tons Tuesday versus 68.6 tons Friday: 7.6 tons in Hat Yai, 35 tons in Surat Thani, 30 tons in Chandee.
