6 Oct 2011: Tocom Rubber Settles Up; Malaysia Backs Thai Moves

Tocom rubber futures settle 1.2% higher, tracking gains in crude-oil prices and equities. Tocom also gets support from major producer Thailand, which is cutting supply and maintaining its floor price on the commodity. Malaysia supports Thailand”s move, commodities minister says. Tocom will likely continue taking external cues the next session, with resistance at Y310/kg, says a participant in Thailand. Benchmark March rubber settles Y3.8 higher at Y308.2/kg, off the intraday high of Y308.7/kg.
