Jul 4: Tocom Rubber Settles Higher; May Gain Further

[Dow Jones] Tocom rubber futures settle 3.8% higher after gaining as much as 4.0%, taking cues from gains in Shanghai rubber and crude. A Hat Yai-based trader at a major Thai exporter says Tocom may gain further on fundamentals. The International Rubber Consortium says in its market report Monday that there is still sporadic rain across Thailand. The Thai Meteorological Department issues a flash flood warning Monday for areas including the south of the country. A Singapore-based dealer tips resistance at Y380/kg. Benchmark December rubber settles Y13.8 higher at Y378/kg, near the intraday high of Y378.7/kg.
