May 7: Thai USS3 Rubber Prices Sharply Down; Tocom Cues

[Dow Jones] Physical prices of Thai USS3 rubber fall to THB100.1-THB101.41/kg vs THB104.16-THB107.78/kg yesterday, as rubber futures down on euro-debt concerns, plunge in DJIA overnight. Bidding for USS3 still keen at central markets as supplies still tight despite some easing as Thailand exits wintering, but futures weigh on prices. “Latex output is less than expected,” says Phuket-based exporter. Outside central markets, some factories even paying THB100/kg. Total quantity sold in three central markets of Thailand estimated at 11.35 tons vs 23.3 tons yesterday: 3 tons in Hat Yai, 0.35 tons in Surat Thani, 8 tons in Chandee.
