[Dow Jones] Asian physical rubber offer prices mostly higher as wintering in major producing countries causing supply tightness, say traders. Asian spot rubber prices have held firm recently as supplies slow, but demand picking up due to economic recovery. Malaysia”s SMR20 traded at $3,140/ton, FOB for April delivery. “The situation has been steady for the last two days,” says Ipoh-based trader; adds offering SMR20 at $3,160-$3,180/ton, FOB for April delivery, but buyer bids $3,130/ton, FOB for April delivery. Thailand”s special grade STR20 compound rubber traded at $3,300/ton, FOB for April delivery in late trading yesterday.
