Jan 4: Tocom Rubber Settles Up On Bullish ANRPC Report

[Dow Jones] Tocom RSS3 rubber futures settle sharply higher on fresh buying support as investors take leads from bullish Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries report, traders say. January-October natural rubber output in major producing regions is estimated down 9% on year, ANRPC says; report shows that supplies continue to be tight because of heavy rains, floods in Southeast Asia in November, says exporter in Singapore; adds prices likely to reach Y300/kg this month. Benchmark Tocom June contract settles Y8.0 higher at Y284/kg after reaching intraday high of Y285, level not seen since late September 2008. (SAM)
