TOKYO, Aug 18 (Reuters) – Japan’s crude rubber inventories
totalled 7,829 tonnes as of July 31, down 5.4 percent from 10
days earlier, data from the Rubber Trade Association of Japan
showed.
The latest figure, the lowest since December, represents an
increase of 14.8 percent from a year earlier, according to the
data, which is updated about every 10 days.
The economic slump slashed rubber demand as automakers cut
production, but some top tyre makers have started to make
purchases again.
Bridgestone Corp <5108.T>, Japan’s largest tyre maker, has
recently been a conspicuous buyer of Thai rubber grades in the
physical market. [ID:nSP139448]
