[Dow Jones] Physical prices of Thai USS3 rubber rise to THB100.5-THB102.62/kg vs THB99.25-THB101.92/kg Wednesday as buyers acquire cargoes for prompt shipment to fulfill contracts. Central markets closed yesterday for holiday; total arrivals improve over Wednesday but still slow. Outside central markets, factories paying around THB103/kg. “If you need rubber now, you will have to pay, as there is just no raw material,” says exporter in southern Thailand. No arrivals at Surat Thani as sellers head to private auction markets; no private markets at Hat Yai, Chandee. Total quantity sold in three central markets of Thailand estimated at 14.4 tons versus 2.5 tons Wednesday: 4.5 tons in Hat Yai, 9.9 tons in Chandee.
